My Vision for La Palma
Protect what makes La Palma special. Plan for what comes next.
But protecting what we love doesn't mean standing still.
Our infrastructure has to be maintained. Our streets have to evolve with changing transportation. Our public safety professionals need the resources and facilities that allow them to serve effectively. Our local businesses need a community where they can succeed. And our city has to make responsible decisions about how we use taxpayer dollars.
I believe experience helps us understand what works, while good leadership requires us to thoughtfully consider what comes next.
I love La Palma as it is today.
I love that families can enjoy our parks and community events. I love that neighbors know one another. I love our small-town atmosphere in the middle of Orange County.
I want to protect that.
Progress should have a purpose.
When new technologies, ideas or solutions can make La Palma safer, stronger, more efficient or more connected, we should be willing to consider them.
The question shouldn't simply be whether something is new.
The question should be:
Will this make life better for the people of La Palma?
Experience + Thoughtful Progress
Experience helps us understand what works. Good leadership helps us decide what comes next.
More than 30 years in La Palma has given me the opportunity to watch this community grow and change.
I've experienced La Palma as a parent, school volunteer, community volunteer, local school district employee, committee member, neighbor and grandmother.
That experience gives me perspective.
But experience doesn't mean being afraid of change.
I am open to new technologies, new ideas and new solutions when they have a clear purpose and provide a meaningful benefit to our community.
I believe good leadership requires both: enough experience to recognize what's worth preserving and enough openness to consider how we can do better.
PROVEN COMMITMENT. THOUGHTFUL PROGRESS.
PROVEN COMMITMENT. THOUGHTFUL PROGRESS.
Strong communities are built when people feel like they belong.
If I'm fortunate enough to serve on City Council, success won't only be measured by votes taken or projects completed.
I'll also think about the resident who had never attended a City Council meeting until someone personally invited them.
The neighbor who hadn't participated in a community event but decided to come to the Christmas tree lighting.
The person who had a question about the city and knew exactly who they felt comfortable calling.
Sometimes building community starts with something as simple as helping someone realize they're invited to be part of it.
I want La Palma to be more than the place you live. I want it to feel like home.
What Success Looks Like
Let's keep La Palma moving forward, together.
If given the opportunity to represent you on City Council:
I will listen.
I will show up.
I will ask questions.
I will make thoughtful decisions.
And I will always remember who I'm there to represent:
You.
